UAV Manufacturer Moves To Nevada From California

Ashima Devices To Relocate To Reno

UAV Manufacturer Ashima Devices announced last week that it would be relocating its corporate headquarters and about 400 jobs from Pasadena, California to Reno, Nevada.

USA Today reports that the move was announced at a news conference at Reno-Stead Airport, attended by Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval and officials from the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada.

The jobs pay an average of $70,000 per year, according to the company, which will work with the University of Nevada, Reno to prepare students for work in the UAV field.

Ashima Devices does not currently have any aircraft in production. It is designing UAVs for use by law enforcement, fire and rescue, security, and similar agencies.

The company plans to have its prototype "Hexpuck" aircraft on display at the Reno National Championship Air Races in Stead this year.
