BA Confirms B787, A380 Deliveries

?Dreamliners Expected In May Of Next Year, Airbus Super Jumbos In July

British Airways says it will be adding Boeing Dreamliners and Airbus A380s to its fleet in 2013, with entry into service for both airplanes planned for late in the year.

The airline expects to receive its first Dreamliner in May of 2013, with three additional airplanes coming later in the year, according to a report appearing in Air & Business Travel News. The first A380 is expected in July, with more of the super jumbos coming in September and November. The airline did not say specifically how many A380s it expects to have by the end of 2013.

A spokesman said that the aircraft will go through an "integration process" for the aircraft, including training flights for air crews. The airline has not yet announced scheduling for these latest additions to its fleet.

In all, BA has 12 firm orders for A380s with seven options on the books with Airbus. It has ordered eight 787-8s, and 16 of the longer 787-9s.

BA will be the first airline to take delivery of both the A380 and the Boeing Dreamliner, according to ABTN. The delivery of the A380s was delayed after cracks were discovered in the wing rib feet of the airliner, and Airbus said the repair schedule could affect its scheduled deliveries for next year.
