Unicycle Stolen From Airport Baggage Claim

Professional Model Valued At $25,000

A unicycle belonging to a professional acrobat was stolen from the baggage claim area at KSFO last month.

Fox News reports that the cycle belongs to Rong Niu, a frequent performer at NBA halftime Shows as the Red Panda Acrobat. Niu's agent told television station KTVU that she had traveled to San Francisco on January 24. When she went to baggage claim to collect her checked luggage, which included the unicycle, she saw a man with a red ponytail grab it off the conveyor and wheel it away.

While the agent, Pat Figley, gave Mr. Ponytail the benefit of the doubt ... saying he could have taken the bag by mistake ... the official police report said the incident was indeed a theft.

Figley said Niu is "heartbroken" over losing the unicycle that she's had for 30 years, and which is valued at more than $25,000.

Because of the theft, Niu was forced to cancel a scheduled performance at UCLA on January 25.
