Governor Sununu Declares March ‘General Aviation Appreciation Month’

GA Contributes More Than $101 Million To The State's Economy

The Alliance for Aviation Across America today applauded Governor Chris Sununu for declaring March 2018 as “General Aviation Appreciation Month.” In New Hampshire, general aviation airports contribute over $101 million in economic output annually.

“General aviation and local airports play an important role in supporting tourism, agriculture, and economic development across the state of New Hampshire,” said Selena Shilad, executive director of the Alliance for Aviation Across America. “We thank Governor Sununu for issuing the proclamation and recognizing the importance of general aviation and local airports.”

“General aviation in New Hampshire, including helicopters, support critical services like emergency medical transportation and law enforcement, as well as businesses and local services,” said Matt Zuccaro, President of Helicopter Association International (HAI). “We thank Governor Sununu for recognizing this important asset and its impact in the state.”

According to the proclamation:

“General aviation plays a vital role in New Hampshire’s response to emergencies and natural disasters, and many communities in New Hampshire depend heavily on general aviation and community airports for the continued flow of commerce, tourists, and visitors to our state.”
