Skyleader Acquires German Planemaker XtremeAir

Plans Move Into The Aerobatic Market

Czech company Skyleader a.s has announced the takeover of the German aircraft manufacturer XtremeAir GmbH. The announcement was made Thursday at the European Unlimited Aerobatic Championship in Jindrichuv Hradec in the Czech Republic.

Skyleader a.s. is owned by ZALL Jihlavan Airplanes in Jihlava and Zall Letov Simulátory in Olomouc. With the purchase of XtremeAir, Skyleader aims to extend its brand and product portfolio generally but also to finally cover the aerobatic sector.

The move refocuses the company strategy of Skyleader away from its product expansion in the UL/LSA class (e.g. Skyleader 600, Skyleader GP One) to enter and address the General Aviation market.

XtremeAir produces the aircraft types XA41 and XA42 at the airport Magdeburg- Cochstedt (EDBC) in Germany. After a successful restructuring, XtremeAir will also expand its product portfolio with the planned introduction of the new XA22 aerobatic trainer in 2019. That aircraft will be  designed for basic and advanced aerobatics will address ambitious pilots, aerobatic flight schools, and airshow formation teams.

In addition XtremeAir plans to develop a more comfortable equipped Gran Tursimo variant that combines the remarkable capabilities of the XA42 in terms of range, speed, ergonomics and maneuvering characteristics and the comfort of an autopilot, IFR instrumentation and further options for an XtremeAir touring aircraft.

XtremeAir also plans to develop an Aerobatic Simulator which will be equipped with state-of-the-art VR Technology thanks to an already existing corporation with Zall Letov Simulátory.

Years of experience in building lightweight aircraft combined with a great international network lead into manifold synergy effects which allow Skyleader and XtremeAir a positive outlook towards the future.
