Spirit Airlines and Wayman Aviation Academy Partnership Announced

South Florida Pilot Pathway Established

Florida aerospace college Wyman Aviation Academy has announced a unique partnership with Spirt Airlines through the Miramar, Florida-based air-carrier’s Spirit Wings Pilot Pathway Program.

The partnership will provide graduates easily accessible, local mentorships with Spirit Airlines pilots and a fast-track to a flight-deck career as a First Officer with the airline.

Wayman Aviation trains future pilots by way of Competency Based Training & Assessment (CBTA), an ostensibly superior standard of flight-training recommended by the notoriously officious International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). Ergo, Wayman is the only institution of its kind in both the U.S. and Spirit’s Wings Pilot Pathway Program.

Wayman Aviation Academy vice-president Eduardo Luy stated: "Our partnership with Spirit through its Spirit Wings Pilot Pathway program highlights the level of trust airlines are placing in Wayman Aviation's rigorous training standards.”

In addition to helping Spirit Airlines maintain its air-crew staffing in the face of an alleged pilot shortage, Wayman Aviation, by virtue of its R-ATP certification, will provide Spirit better trained pilots holding associates degrees in aviation sciences.

Wayman Aviation Academy president Tony Shen set forth: "As innovators at one of the best aviation colleges in the state, we have adopted a process called competency-based training which allows our students to be much more advanced in the principles of aviation safety at the early stages of their career compared to students from traditional flight schools.”

Wayman Aviation is pleased to partner with Spirit, the school’s hometown airline, as the association aligns with Wayman's stated mission of providing the aviation industry comprehensively-trained and eminently well-prepared pilots. Wayman Aviation’s and Spirit Airline’s headquarters are located only 15 minutes apart in south-eastern-Florida’s Broward County.
