JETTECH Offering CD-125 Replacement For Citation 500 Series

Allows Adjustment of VS and IAS with Autopilot Engaged

JETTECH announced today it is offering an affordable engineered solution for replacement of the Command Display (CD) 125 on the Citation 500, 501, 550, 551, S550 and 560 series aircraft that allows Vertical Speed (VS) and Indicated Airspeed (IAS) adjustments while the autopilot is engaged.

The JETTECH CD-125R is a retrofit display unit that provides the Legacy Citation 500 owners and operators the ability to capture features introduced in the Citation 560 series aircraft such as increasing or decreasing the selected value while keeping the autopilot coupled. When the unit is not displaying VS or IAS, it digitally shows the Mach speed.

According to Rob Irwin, founder and member/manager of JETTECH, the original equipment Sperry CD-125 unit installed on the 500, 501, 550, 551, S550 and 560 aircraft will only hold the selected VS and IAS once the autopilot is engaged. He said this was a cumbersome feature that was later changed when the 560 series aircraft were introduced.

"Our new CD-125R unit replicates the flexibility of the systems found on the 560 series," Irwin explained. "As an example, to adjust the vertical speed you simply select it and scroll the pitch wheel until the desired VS is shown while the autopilot remains engaged and matches what was selected. The same is true when selecting the airspeed hold."

Irwin said the CD-125R retrofit unit is available through JETTECH and is offered as an add on for its Garmin G600 and new G600/700 TXi STC for Citation 500, 501, 550, 551, S550 and 560 series aircraft.

In addition to the CD-125 retrofit unit, JETTECH provides an STC'd autopilot coupled LPV WAAS for the Citation CJs equipped with the ProLine 21 Integrated Avionics System. For early CJs, JETTECH’s STC covers the installation of Garmin GTN’s with coupled autopilot LPV WAAS capability. Also, JETTECH owns the STC install for the Garmin G600 and GTN 650/750 touchscreen series GPS for the Citation 500 series that includes WAAS approvals.
