Crimson King Air Unveiled for 60th Anniversary

Classy New Colorway Commemorates Beechcraft’s Classic Cruiser

Buyers of the Beechcraft King Air 260 and 360 can now opt for a celebratory red, blue, and silver livery released to commemorate six decades of the marque.

The 'best-selling business turboprop family in the world' remains a strong seller for the Textron brand, combining rugged go-anywhere performance with sweet handling and a capacious interior to match. The special 'Crimson Edition' includes more than a custom color scheme, too. The boarding stair has revised fixtures and fasteners that help to make the assembly sleeker and seamless. Going inside, that effort continues with some small but meaningful touches to evoke the history of the Beechcraft name, with the brand's logo on sidewalls and bulkhead panels. The seating is clad in dark leather and Alcantara accents, topped with matching crimson accent piping. Charcoal carpeting is set along the floor, with brief appearances by crimson arcs to recall the aircraft's coloration outside.

Beechcraft says that the King Air namesake has gone pretty far in 60 years, with more than 7,800 aircraft put into operation around the world. Those aircraft racked up 64 million flight hours since 1960, faithfully giving pilots and passengers a reliable travel companion and teacher wherever they need it. That tradition will continue, thanks to renewed interest in the King Air platform as the US Navy's Multi-Engine Training System. New King Air 260s will remain a popular buy for anyone.

“The Crimson Edition of the King Air provides customers with an immersive experience that pays tribute to the turboprop’s renowned legacy, while also featuring modern luxuries and upgrades that showcase the aircraft's ongoing evolution,” said Christi Tannahill, senior vice president, Customer Experience. “We’re honored to celebrate a prestigious aircraft that is beloved by so many customers around the world.”

“It’s a visually stunning design and one we believe will surpass customer expectations,” Tannahill said. “This edition offers customers the best flying experience they expect while paying homage to the King Air’s proud, successful history.”
