Vantage Robotics Releases Pocket-Sized Recon Drone

New UAV Enhances Covert Reconnaissance for Law Enforcement

Vantage Robotics, a manufacturer of small unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and drone technology, has unveiled its latest innovation: the Trace nano drone. Designed to support national security, law enforcement, and critical infrastructure management, Trace offers modern capabilities in a compact, American-made UAV.

The Trace nano drone aims to address current needs in safety, detectability, budget, and operational scope. It incorporates several new features, including the proprietary Poplar radio technology enabling a 2 km operational range. The airframe is constructed from folding titanium and carbon fiber and supports flight times in excess of 30 minutes.

Weighing only 153 grams, Trace is significantly below the FAA's safe weight threshold. This makes it accessible for a broad range of operators while minimizing risk. Despite its small size, Vantage states, it offers flight and camera performance comparable to much larger drones. Its compact form also allows it to operate in diverse environments, including both indoor and outdoor settings.

Further, Trace provides stealth reconnaissance capabilities through a low noise signature and gimbal-stabilized high resolution visible light and thermal cameras providing up to 24x zoom.

"Trace is a crucial next step in our mission to provide our customers with the world's most capable small UAS," said Vantage Robotics' CEO Tobin Fisher. "After four years of non-stop innovation and testing with DoD and law enforcement partners, we're thrilled to offer the best ISR nano drone in the world today."

The development of Trace follows extensive testing with the Department of Defense (DoD) and various law enforcement agencies. Vantage Robotics has been involved in the production of small UAVs for a range of clients, including branches of the U.S. DoD, SOCOM, the Department of Homeland Security, CNN, and other national, state, and local agencies.

Founded in 2013, Vantage Robotics is based in San Leandro, California. The company has raised over $50 million in funding and is backed by industry pioneers, venture capitalists, and federal agencies. Their new Trace UAS is now available for purchase by select customers.
