Alaska and Horizon Airlines are requiring full vaccination by the date of hire for new employees.

They will also stop quarantine pay to unvaccinated employees that contract COVID-19. Alaska employs around 23,000 people. “In addition, current unvaccinated employees who become exposed to or infected with COVID-19, will no longer be paid for their quarantine time," the airline said. “We appreciate every employee who has put in the effort to get vaccinated, and we continue to encourage our employees to get the vaccine.” A Utah based organization called Project Airtime, takes anyone who wants to go flying, flying. For free. The adaptive paragliding program is designed to assist anyone who may have an injury or disability, and their caregivers, and show them that paragliding is still possible. Founder, Chris Santacroce, suffered a life-altering spinal cord injury in the 2000’s and now views life in a different way. He wants others to be able to experience the freedom he experienced with paragliding. Piedmont Airlines is offering captains and upgrading first officers a $30,000 bonus, and up to $180,000 in retention bonuses. The program was created alongside the Air Line Pilot Association to ensure stability for pilots in an industry that is still battling the uncertainty of the COVID pandemic. PSA Airlines and Envoy Air are also offering up to $150,000 in potential earnings. All this -- and MORE in today's episode of Airborne!!!
