Dynon and Airmate Extend Attractive SUN ‘n FUN Offers

A Lot for a Little—On Many Levels

Airmate, the free Electronic Flight Bag provider with north of 200,000 users worldwide, now provides its proven Aviation Data for U.S. operators of Dynon’s SkyView Primary Flight Displays (PFD) and supplemental aircraft cockpit architectures.

On 23 March 2023, Airmate and Dynon Avionics announced a partnership by dint of which U.S.-based SkyView operators may access Airmate's comprehensive and updated Aviation Data for a startlingly reasonable $49.90-per-year.

The U.S. Data subscription includes:

  • U.S. Sectionals and U.S. IFR raster charts.
  • All FAA approach plates and airport diagrams, georeferenced.
  • Digital database updates every 28-days at each FAA cycle and includes all airfields, controlled and restricted airspaces, radio beacons, and waypoints and obstacles for the entire U.S., including Alaska & Hawaii.

To ease and hasten data uploads and updates, subscribers may avail themselves of the Airmate Data Manager App. Available on both Windows and MacOS, the free App automatically checks for available data for a given subscription, allows pilots to select desired charts and plates, then downloads and programs the USB drive with the selected data.

Additionally, by utilizing Airmate's free EFB App, it is possible, for training purposes, to load SID, STAR, and RNAV approaches and export, via Wi-Fi, a flight plan that includes all approach waypoints to SkyView’s flight plan. What’s more, Airmate’s database includes all IFR approaches in the U.S. Please note, however, that subject IFR data does not contain glideslope/glidepath data and is not certified for such applications. Furthermore, the use of SID/STAR/RNAV approaches in IFR operations requires an IFR-certified GPS receiver connected to the SkyView system.

SkyView Data packages for other global regions, including Africa, Asia, Europe, South America, North America, and the Pacific are also available.

Fan’s of Dynon’s slick, high-functioning, eminently intuitive PFDs ought to note that throughout SUN ‘n FUN (Tuesday, 28 March through Sunday, 02 April 2023) the company’s D3 Pocket Panel is being offered for only $850—a full $50 off its normal price.

The newest edition of Dynon’s popular Pocket Panel family of products, the D3 features Synthetic Vision and supplements notoriously unreliable vacuum-driven legacy flight instruments with durable, dependable, digital technology. The affordable, portable, electronic D3 includes two mounting options—a RAM suction cup mount and a 3-1/8-inch portable "pinch" mount by which the D3 can be easily mounted (without tools) in an existing empty instrument panel space without the need for fasteners. Because no modifications to the host aircraft are required, the D3 Pocket Panel can be deployed in any aircraft without need for regulatory approval.

As the clever cusses in Dynon’s marketing department assert: “Don't miss this opportunity to get A Little Attitude for Everyone at a special price.

All told, Dynon’s D3 Pocket Panel includes:

  • AC Wall Charger
  • DC Vehicle Charger
  • Charging Cable
  • Mounting Cradles (two included)
  • RAM Portable Suction Cup Mount
  • Portable “Pinch” Mount for Standard 3-1/8-inch Instrument Hole
  • External GPS Antenna (not required in many cockpits)
