Third Goodrich Facility Named Boeing Network Service Center

Alabama Business Will Repair, Overhaul Thrust Reversers

This week, Goodrich Corporation and Boeing signed an agreement making the Goodrich Aerostructures Alabama Service Center part of Boeing's Network Service Center (NSC) program.

Under the terms of the agreement, the Foley, AL-based Service Center will repair and overhaul thrust reversers on Boeing 737 Next-Generation and 777 aircraft.

Boeing's NSC program aims to reduce overall repair costs and simplify complex rotable programs for airline operators through the establishment of additional approved maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) support in key global regions.

According to Stuart Kay, General Manager of the Goodrich Aerostructures Alabama Service Center, "This agreement will enhance the ongoing efforts of both Boeing and Goodrich to support our mutual airline customers with accessible, world-class MRO services."

With the agreement, the Alabama Service Center becomes the third facility in Goodrich Aerostructures' worldwide MRO network authorized to participate in Boeing's NSC program. Goodrich's European Service Center in Prestwick, Scotland joined the program earlier this year, while the Goodrich Aerostructures Service Center-Asia, in Singapore, was authorized to participate in 2005.

Participating facilities must complete an extensive Boeing quality audit ensuring the highest standards of MRO expertise and process control.
