EASA Issues STC For Cessna 182 Series With 3-Blade MT-Propeller MTV-9

Available For Airplanes Powered By Certain Lycoming Engines

EASA has issued an STC (10060691) to MT-Propeller for the installation of its next generation 3-blade scimitar composite propeller MTV-9-B/200-52 on Cessna T182, T182T, TR182 airplanes powered by the Lycoming engines TIO-540-AK1A or O-540-L3C5D engines.

According to the company, the installation will Improve climb performance by 7 % (MTOW, ISA conditions), weigh about 12 pounds less than the original propeller and reduce noise and vibration levels.

The aircraft with the new propeller will see an increase in speed of two knots, and comply with the strict German noise regulations 2010– "Landeplatz Lärmschutz Verordnung" for unrestricted airport operations in Germany and other European countries.

The MT-Propeller natural composite blades provide significant inside and outside noise reduction. They have no life limitation, and are repairable in case of damage by foreign objects.

They also provide best vibration damping characteristics for almost vibration free propeller operation and have bonded-on stainless steel leading edges for best erosion protection of the blades, according to the company.
