Duncan Aviation Retrofits Dassault Jet with Hydrographic Cabinetry

Preening the Falcon 2000

During a recent 2C/4C inspection (36/72-month), Duncan Aviation delivered a fully refurbished Falcon 2000 with a fresh exterior livery and an all-new interior featuring cabinetry sporting hydrographic finishes.

In addition, the aircraft received a Collins Pro Line 21 avionics upgrade, a Collins Venue CMS upgrade, Gogo AVANCE L5, a GH-39000 Electronic Standby Instrument System, a LASEREF IV Inertial Reference System, and Dual USB ports.

Prior to its refurbishment, the deep browns and solid textures of the Falcon’s interior color-pallet evoked a heavy, dark, lugubrious feel, which the aircraft’s owner sought to lighten and modernize.

Heather Pridemore, lead designer at Duncan’s Battle Creek location, stated: “To achieve the owner’s vision of a modern interior, we gave the cabinets a new look that can only be achieved through hydrographics. This process is becoming very desirable and was executed by the team at the Battle Creek facility with great detail and precision, creating a stunning natural wood look.”

That he might fully appreciate the detail and quality of the finished product, the Falcon’s owner was provided a hands-on demonstration of the hydrographic application process by Duncan Aviation completions & modifications sales representative Tiffany Buschini.

“He became one-hundred-percent on board,” Buschini enthused. “Battle Creek is using a mechanized arm that makes it possible to dip large monuments. The owner was ecstatic with the result.”

To actualize the owner’s desire for a distinctively-styled aircraft, the Duncan Aviation team salted the Falcon’s interior with unique appointments and tasteful details. The cabin’s lower side-walls were adorned in a full-depth, hand-tipped leather. Luxury vinyl flooring was installed in the cabin’s vestibule and lavatory, thereby balancing elegance, utility, and ease-of-maintenance.

While touring the company’s Battle Creek facility, the Falcon’s owner had opportunity to observe Duncan’s new CNC stitching machine and appreciate the talents of upholstery master specialist Todd Bartholomew. Impressed, the client relinquished control of his aircraft’s refurbishment to the Duncan Aviation team, which promptly delivered a splendid, custom quilting design with contrasting piping accents.

A carefully-selected carpet featuring an amalgam of grays in an organic pattern added the finishing touch to the Falcon 2000’s new interior. The floor-covering provided a light, flowing movement that draws the observing eye aft, imparting a sense of length to the cabin.

The Falcons simple-yet-elegant exterior livery incorporates wisps of blue and longitudinal silver stripes which, too, accentuate the aircraft’s length.

Pridemore credits the Falcon 2000’s remarkable transformation and its owner’s satisfaction to the talented Duncan teams by which she was supported.

“Together, we create new and inspiring designs,” Pridemore asserted. “This Falcon 2000 turned out beautifully, with so many subtle details, creating a unique masterpiece.”
