Medical Helicopter Down In Wichita Falls, TX

One Fatally Injured, Three Others Hurt In The Accident

A Bell 206 LongRanger III operated by the Air Evac Lifeteam went down early Saturday morning in the downtown area of Wichita Falls, TX.

Fox News relays a report from the Times Record News that there were three medical personnel and a patient on board the aircraft when it went down. The patient was being transported to the United Regional Health Care System.

Wichita Falls fire chief Jon Reese said that a flight nurse and a paramedic who had been on board the helicopter when it went down were in critical condition at a Dallas hospital, and the pilot was in serious but stable condition. The patient was fatally injured in the accident. None of those involved have been identified.

The accident occurred at 0156 local time Saturday, and remains under investigation.
