Robinson Exhibits Newscopter, Trainer, at Heli-Expo 2022

Sky Helicopters Displays Some Popular Options, Packages with Cadet, Raven, and Newscopter

Robinson has brought a quintet of their aircraft to Heli-Expo 2022, bringing an R66 Turbine, R44 Raven II, R44 Cadet, and a recently painted R66 Newscopter at this year’s Dallas, Texas exhibition.

Each one of them is already spoken for, and after the expo is over will make their way to Sky Helicopters in Garland, Texas for delivery to customers. The R66 and R44 Raven are examples of well-outfitted, fully equipped and optioned Robinson craft. They feature the improved, impact resistant windshields, built in cockpit cabin cameras, glass panel avionics, autopilots, long steps, and cyclic guards. The R66 bearing the shiny "News 6 HD" livery is an example of the marque's R66 ENG, or electronic news gathering option package. The helicopter is the 16th of its kind purchased by the dealer, who says that the pack has proven exceedingly popular throughout a few major metro areas of the US, so much so, in fact, that the firm plans to expand into 2 more markets later this year.

The R44 Cadet on exhibition will be delivered to the University of North Dakota's Aerospace program. This is the 6th Cadet added to the Dakotan fleet since its first acquisition in 2016. Wes Van Deil, chief flight instructor-helicopter, said the R44 has proven to be an excellent trainer thanks to its continuous maintenance tracking and on-board camera. The proliferation of in-flight video recording has been a fast-growing phenomenon in the training market, as the ability to record and replay a training flight is a great way to maximize training efficiency aid post-flight critique.

Van Deil described the R44 as a stellar practice helicopter, saying “The Cadet has proven to be an outstanding trainer. The continued innovation of the R44...will allow us to instruct the next generation of helicopter pilots using the latest tools and technologies."
