GoDrone 2.0 Gets New Look

Altitude Angel Euro Drone App Gets Overhaul As Part of Version 2

Netherlands ANSP LVNL and Altitude Angel broke news of a revamped iteration of GoDrone's flight planning app.

While Altitude Angel may be somewhat unknown stateside, it's a big enough deal abroad, where GoDrone managed to secure a strong foothold in the domestic Dutch market since its launch in the Spring of 2020. The company's Unified Traffic Management software has continued to build speed at a number of British airfields, too, helping controllers to wrangle flight activity with a streamlined, digital suite of tools. The new v2.0 of GoDrone isn't out of the oven just yet, from the sound of it, plans say that it's going to be rolling out in second quarter for both iOS and Android platforms. GoDrone gets more than just a reskin, too, getting a comprehensive update with new features, workflows, and more.

From the sound of it, GoDrone had plenty to learn as it watched users put it through its paces, so it now integrates stronger integrated flight planning, plan drawing tools, and streamlined approval flows even for more complex routing. Pilots having to request access to transit an airport CTR will find things much slicker than they were before, with satellite map layers and ground hazards shown off in greater detail than ever before. Those new to the app should find it much easier and more intuitive too. Departmental operations should be much easier with the addition of individual pilot profiles and aircraft management, allowing leadership to account for flight times of man & machine alike.

Those are just the highlights, however. Thanks to the addition of Altitude Angel's expertise, the GoDrone app should offer a quantitative improvement in nearly every aspect of use, right down to newly integrated biometric security features. That allows for eye and fingerprints to be used as passwords all their own, preventing unauthorized access to the app should the device be lost.
