AD 2021-22-05 Requires Repetitive Inspections Of Affected Torque Tube Assemblies

The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for all Leonardo S.p.a. Model A119 and AW119 MKII  helicopters. This AD was prompted by reports of abnormal play on the collective torque tube on two Model AW119 MKII helicopters. This AD requires repetitive inspections of affected torque tube assemblies for any deficiency and corrective action if necessary; and the replacement of any affected part with a serviceable part, which is terminating action for the repetitive inspections, as specified in a European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) AD, which is incorporated by reference. The FAA is issuing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.

The much celebrated RCAF tells us that Claire De Repentigny grew up northeast of Montreal in the town that bears her name – Repentigny. Always interested in aviation, she wanted to be a military pilot long before women were allowed in that role. So, she obtained her civilian license and was soon a fixed wing instructor teaching in and around the Montreal area. In the spring of 1986, it was announced that women would be allowed to become pilots in the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF). Claire was at the recruiting station the very next day and six months later she was enrolled in the Canadian Armed Forces.

QinetiQ GmbH has placed an order for two DA62 MPP multi-purpose platforms. The five-ton Prichal docking module arrived at the International Space Station at 10:19 a.m. EST, propelled by a modified Russian Progress propulsion compartment. They docked to the Nauka module on the Earth-facing side of the Russian segment two days after lifting off from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan Wednesday, Nov. 24 at 8:06 a.m. EST (6:06 p.m. Baikonur time). The spacecraft were flying about 260 miles over Ukraine at the time of docking.

On October 31, 2021, about 1150 mountain daylight time, a Cessna 172K, N1082V, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident near Rexburg, Idaho. The student pilot was not injured. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight. According to the student pilot, he was conducting his first multi-leg solo cross-country flight.
