The Ercoupe Owners Club announced its 2025 National Convention will be held from Tuesday, July 15 to Saturday, July 19, at the Wausau Downtown Airport (KAUW) in Wisconsin. This year’s event will celebrate the 85th anniversary of the ‘Coupe’s Type Certificate. After the convention, the group will depart for the EAA AirVenture fly-in at Wittman Regional Airport (KOSH) in Oshkosh. Federal Air Surgeon Susan Northrup, MD, PHD, discussed on the FAA’s YouTube channel “Pilot Minute” what came out of the Aviation Rulemaking Committee (ARC) on mental health. Air Belgium Goes Bankrupt With $9 Mil in Unresolved Refunds

European Airline Officially Shuts Down, Liquidates All Assets

Air Belgium was recently declared bankrupt by the Walloon Brabant court, ending an eight-year run of losses and uncertainty. The airline is now liquidating its assets, with little to no hope of refunding its more than $9 million in unresolved customer charges. The carrier was founded in May of 2016 with plans to connect Belgium to long-haul destinations in Asia and the Caribbean. It launched scheduled passenger services in 2018 and, five years later, transitioned to charter and cargo operations.

On April 28, 2025, about 1355 Alaska daylight time, a Cessna T207 airplane, N91025, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident near Nanwalek, Alaska. The pilot and one passenger were fatally injured. One passenger was seriously injured. Aircraft shipments through Q1 2025 show that piston airplanes increased to 353 units, turboprops increased to 133 units, and bizjets increased to 141 units. The total value of airplane deliveries and billings was $5.04 billion, an increase of 25.7%. Helicopter shipments through Q1 2025 show piston helicopters increased to 54 units and turbine helicopters increased to 133 units.
