Airborne 06.25.14: NTSB Rules On Asiana 214, A350XWB Fleet, Princely Chopper

Also: Breezys to Flock To Oshkosh, Green Flight Challenge, TSA Gouging Us Again, Electric A/C Record

This report summary is only a synopsis of the NTSB findings on the crash of Asiana flight 214 while executing a visual approach and to San Francisco International Airport on June 16, 2013.

The summary contains almost 5000 words and is testimony to the scope of the investigation. For certification of the new Airbus A350 XWB, the 5th test airplane has now joined in the certification process. The next time your mother asks what you want for a gift-giving occasion, you might remind her that the Queen of England got Prince William a helicopter for his birthday. And not just any helicopter. The aircraft, which has already been dubbed "Heir-force One," with the air part spelled H-E-I-R by the media, is a six-year-old Agusta 109S Grand. All this... and MORE in today's episode of Airborne!!!
