Anna University Gets Record For Hovering Drone

Aircraft Remained Stationary In The Air For Over Six Hours

The The Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI) has confirmed that Anna University has set a record for hovering an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle.

The attempt was made at the Centre for Aerospace Research (CASR) at Madras Institute of Technology under the auspices of Anna University. The FAI and Aero Club of India observed the attempt, which was made in July 2018.

The Times of India reports that the aircraft was maintained in a hover for six hours, seven minutes and 45 seconds. The record is for a multirotor UAV in the 5 to 25 kg category.

This is the first such record to be recognized by the FAI, according to a news release.
