IFALPA Counsels Caution on Singapore Airlines Flight 321 Reports

IFALPA Has Stressed The Need To Avoid Speculation As To What Happened With SQ-321

OK... no arguments with this concept...

The International Federation of Air Line Pilots’ Associations (IFALPA) is closely monitoring the developments related to the tragic incident involving Singapore Airlines Flight SQ-321, which was operating from London Heathrow to Singapore.

They have expressed their deepest condolences to the loved ones of the passenger whose life was lost and added that their thoughts were also with the friends and families of the passengers and crew members that were onboard the Boeing 777-300 aircraft.

BUT... IFALPA has stressed the need to avoid speculation as to what happened in the course of these events (and based on some of the media frenzy, not a moment too soon). Such Investigation, they add, should strictly follow the provisions laid out in ICAO Annex 13.

The Federation has reached out to the Air Line Pilots’ Association of Singapore and promises to be at the disposal of the relevant Accident Investigation Agencies to help gather any pertinent information.

IFALPA represents more than 100,000 pilots in nearly 100 countries. The mission of IFALPA is to promote the highest level of aviation safety worldwide and to be the global advocate of the piloting profession, providing representation, services, and support to both our members and the aviation industry.
