Bombardier Expands Presence In Asia-Pacific

New Office In Singapore Is The Fifth To Support Commercial Aircraft Operators In The China And Asia-Pacific Region

Bombardier Aerospace announced today the opening of its newest Regional Support Office (RSO), geared at providing support to commercial aircraft operators in Singapore and the rest of the South East Asia region. The new Singapore office is the 18th Bombardier RSO to open outside North America. It complements a large service and support network, which anchors Commercial Aircraft's sales and marketing team and targets the growing number of Bombardier commercial aircraft customers in the newly-merged sales region of China and Asia-Pacific.

"With more than 300 CRJ and Q-Series fleet in operation or on order in the greater China and Asia-Pacific region, our customer base counts on Bombardier support teams embedded locally," said Todd Young, Vice President, Customer Services and Support, Bombardier Commercial Aircraft. "By centralizing our technical expertise and operations support in Singapore, we will significantly bolster our response times, create more efficient local decision making abilities, and most importantly build lasting partnerships to ensure efficient operations of Bombardier commercial aircraft within the South East Asia region."

Over the last two years, Bombardier has made great strides in the regionalization of its customer services network, as well as its Commercial Aircraft's sales and marketing teams - more than doubling the teams worldwide. The regions that experienced the most growth are China/North Asia, which is led out of the Shanghai, China office, and the Asia-Pacific region managed primarily out of the Singapore sales office.

In order to establish the worldwide sales vision and more efficiently manage the sales strategies required for success, Bombardier Aerospace also announced the appointment of Andy Solem as Vice President, Sales, China and Asia-Pacific to lead the newly-joined region. Torbjorn Karlsson, Regional Vice President, Sales, Asia-Pacific continues to lead the sales and marketing teams based in Singapore, India and Australia. Mr. Solem is based in the Shanghai office and Mr. Karlsson is based in the Singapore office. Additional alignments and appointments in the China and Asia-Pacific sales and marketing teams will be made in the near future.

"As we move towards entry-into-service and production of our CSeries aircraft and continue with the ongoing placement and support of the CRJ NextGen aircraft and Q400 NextGen aircraft in both new and existing markets, Bombardier Commercial Aircraft's regional sales and marketing team is now realigned and ideally positioned in both Singapore and Shanghai to provide industry-leading solutions to current and prospective customers," added Andy Solem, Vice President, Sales, China and Asia-Pacific, Bombardier Commercial Aircraft. "As demand for commercial aircraft continues to accelerate in Asia, we are pleased to demonstrate the growing importance of this dynamic market as we further strengthen our presence in the region and join the China and Asia-Pacific teams."
