Crypto Soon to Be Used for Emirates Tickets

Tie-In with Cryptocurrency Payment System May Finally Let Investors Leave Their Hobbit Holes

Soon, thanks to a preliminary deal between Emirates and Crypto.com, you’ll be able to book your first class ticket with FARTCOIN, a genuinely real digital currency with a $1.1-billion market cap.

Since the deal will use existing crypto exchange infrastructure, it can be assumed that anything on the Crypto.com sytems will be accepted, however silly. The Gulf carrier will accept payments for Emirates tickets and offerings using Crypto.com’s payment trading service, opening up a whole wide world of real-life destinations to degenerate shut-in digi-gamblers. Or, investors, if they pick better coins to back, if that’s possible. Those who don't believe crypto can even throw in on predictions trading through the website, whether they want to bet on politics, economics, sports, or 'culture'.

The Memorandum of Understanding between Emirates and Crypto will begin integration next year, with plans by both companies to “explore leveraging promotional marketing campaigns to create awareness and encourage adoption of this new payment solution.” It makes sense, given Dubai’s newfound importance as a hub for cryptocurrency stuff. Emirates highlighted the crypto-friendly regulatory framework and ‘robust ecosystem’ their country offers, which should foster innovation while ensuring investor protection and financial stability. (“Innovation” in the crypto sphere could be quicker transaction times, lower fees, or higher-resolution $500,000 monkey pictures.)

Adnan Kazim, Emirates Chief Financial and Group Services Officer, said “Partnering with Crypto.com to integrate cryptocurrency into our digital payments system reflects Emirates’ commitment to meeting evolving customer preferences, in addition to tapping into younger, tech-savvy customer segments who prefer digital currencies. This strategic move is in line with Dubai’s vision to be at the forefront of financial innovation while at the same time providing our customers with greater flexibility and choice in how they transact with Emirates.”

“We’re delighted to complete the signing of this important MoU with Emirates Airline,” said Eric Anziani, President and COO of Crypto.com. “As we continue to expand the everyday use case for crypto, integration with exceptional partners such as Emirates will bring real momentum to the digital asset industry and enable both companies to offer genuine innovative finance solutions for our customers. We look forward to working together as we continue to build our crypto offering in the GCC”

*And yes, FARTCOIN is a really-real thing, and each one is worth $1.10 USD at the moment. All-time high? $2.18. Crazy times.
