Flexjet Spends $7B On 182 Embraer Jets

Firm Order Includes Phenom And Praetor Models Plus Options

Flexjet announced a firm order for Embraer jets to the tune of $7 billion for 182 aircraft, to include Phenom 300E, Praetor 500, and Praetor 600 models, and options for an additional 30 aircraft as well as an enhanced services and support agreement.

The order is the largest firm order in history for both Embraer Executive Jets and Flexjet, a fractional ownership operator. Flexjet CEO Mike Silvestro says the company currently has over 300 aircraft, with about 150 from Embraer. This deal will result in its fleet size nearly doubling to over 600 by 2031.

Prior to the announcement, Silvestro said “I’m as bullish on private aviation, fractional ownership, and Flexjet as I have ever been.”

Deliveries from this order are slated to begin in 2026 as deliveries from a $1.4 billion order in 2019 are continuing in 2025. The Praetor 600 is the super-midsize model and the Praetor 500 is the midsize, while the Phenom 300E is the light jet series.

Silvestro says that new customers are starting at a younger age- in their 40s, and they are also starting in bigger aircraft and flying longer segments.

He also said the U.S. is and will remain the dominant market for Flexjet but that the company is looking to expand its geographic base. With these additional aircraft, a Middle East base becomes a possibility. One which Silvestro calls an extension of its European operations.

Silvestro said, “We are looking very seriously at the best way to serve those Middle East customers.”

Michael Amalfitano, President & CEO of Embraer said, “We are delighted with Flexjet’s renewed commitment to Embraer through this comprehensive purchase agreement, which strengthens even further our strategic partnership of over 20 years. We are very excited to have many more loyal Flexjet fractional owners enjoy access to our industry-leading Phenom and best-in-class Praetor jets.”
