STS-107 Update: Crew Found

Remains From All 7 Identified

Remains from each of the seven Columbia astronauts have now been recovered in East Texas, according to NASA Flight Crew Operations Chief Bob Cabana.

"We found remains from all the astronauts. It's still in the process of identification."

Cabana pleaded with reporters during a news conference on Sunday to respect the privacy of the Columbia families and respect their need to grieve. Neither Cabana, other NASA officials nor local search teams at the crash site in East Texas would discuss the discovery, Sunday, of more remains.

"We're honoring our fellow crewmates," said an obviously emotional Cabana. "We're taking good care of them."
