Guard-Changing at Superior Air Parts

Superior Air Parts announced recently that Bernie Coleman resigned as Chief Executive Officer and President of Superior effective September 30, 2003. Mr. Coleman notified Superior’s Board of Directors of his desire to seek other opportunities. The Board and the Company wish to acknowledge and thank Mr. Coleman for his efforts in directing the operations of Superior over the past six years.

Mr. Coleman joined Superior in 1992 as Vice President of Sales and Marketing and ultimately was promoted to Chief Executive Officer in 1997. James P. Wilson, Chairman of Superior stated "Mr. Coleman led the Company out of its Chapter 11 proceeding in 1997, achieving a successful pperational turnaround and provided the groundwork for the Company’s long-term success. We wish Bernie great success in his future endeavors."

A key promotion, too:

In conjunction with Mr. Coleman’s resignation, Superior announced the appointment of Chuck Dedmon to the Company’s Board of Directors. Additionally, Mr. Dedmon has been appointed as interim Chief Executive Officer of Superior. Mr. Dedmon first joined Superior in 1967, when his father founded the Company. Chuck held a variety of positions with Superior from 1967 through 1985 when he was promoted to Chief Executive Officer.

Following his entrepreneurial spirit, Mr. Dedmon left Superior in 1989 and founded Spirit Air, a manufacturer of PMA aircraft parts. "Chuck is truly a pioneer in the general aviation industry and Superior is extremely pleased to have him aboard to guide the Company as we continue to grow and achieve our goals," continued Wilson.
