TRU Simulation + Training To Feature Rockwell Collins IVS On Its Commercial FFSs

Will Be Included On 15 Systems Over The Next Three Years

As part of its new contract with TRU Simulation + Training, Rockwell Collins will be providing its integrated visual systems for 15 systems over the next three years for several of TRU’s commercial full flight simulator clients for commercial airlines and airframe manufacturers.

“We look forward to working with TRU on new business opportunities, especially in supporting that company’s new contracts with Airbus as it expands the ‘Training by Airbus’ strategy around the world,” said Nick Gibbs, vice president and general manager of Simulation & Training Solutions at Rockwell Collins. “Beyond improved reality and performance, customers also benefit from an overall lower cost of ownership with this latest technology.”

Rockwell Collins will be supplying its EP-8100 image generators with JVC laser illuminated projectors and a number of support items, such as airport model databases, spares and training.

The EP-8100’s open, scalable architecture makes it easier to add new features and enhancements throughout the life of the system. It provides unmatched procurement cycles of five to eight years, and life-cycle support in excess of 15 years. Through its industry-leading image quality and high resolution, pilots enjoy superior cues designed for training success.

The systems will be manufactured at Rockwell Collins’ facility in Salt Lake City, Utah, with initial installations in Montreal, Canada and Tampa, Florida. Final site work will take place at multiple TRU end user sites around the world, including Europe and Asia.
