Ryan International Integrates TCAS With More MFDs

Company announces two new interface partners

Ryan International of Columbus (OH) announced Friday the ability to integrate its Multi-Hazard Display (MHD) with Honeywell's KGP-560 Enhanced Ground Proximity Warning System (EGPWS) and L-3 Avionics' WX-500 Stormscope Weather Mapping Sensor.

The Ryan MHD is the only display on the market to provide simultaneous information on a dedicated display, depicting three of the most imminent threats to safe flight: traffic, terrain, and thunderstorms as denoted by lightning activity. All are displayed simultaneously on a primary view and two thumbnail views.

By providing only the hazard information, without moving map, navigation or communication information, Ryan shows pilots potential trouble-spots and suggests appropriate action in less time than on displays containing more information.

The MHD allows installation where instrument panel space limits size and weight of hardware options, and cost of larger multi-function displays is a limiting factor.

The MHD is designed for use with the Ryan 9900BX Traffic Advisory System (TAS) and is compatible with other TAS and TCAS I systems including Honeywell TAS and TCAS I, and L-3 Skywatch and TCAS I.

The Ryan MHD is TSO compliant (TSO-C147 Class A TAS; TSO-C113 Multi Purpose Display; TSO-C118 TCAS I Display).
