Elite Piston Helicopter Trainer Debuts

First Showing Of R22 Piston Helicopter Primary Flight Training Device At Lakeland

Elite Simulation Solutions, in cooperation with Daedalus Technologies and Laminar Research introduces the newest addition to their fleet of helicopter training devices.  From startup, run up to shut down, TH22 models the form, function and performance of the Robinson R22 piston helicopter.

According to Wayne Keyes, Elite Director of Business Development, the company's turbine helicopter sims have been very successful "but we've had a lot of requests for a piston helicopter. Since Robinson is the largest manufacturer of civil helicopters in the world, it was a logical choice that this would be our first.  The orientation and size of the visual display gives the correct spatial orientation for hover training, confined area landings, pinnacles, auto rotations and deceleration maneuvers.  We also incorporated a dynamic audio tactile feedback system that totally immerses the pilot into helicopter seat-of-the-pants flying."

Since 1987, Elite has been a leading global provider of IFR training software, simulator hardware and aviation training devices. Elite's extensive portfolio includes FNPT, BITD, STD, BATD, and AATD simulation solutions for both fixed wing and rotary wing.  ELITE trainers have received approval by governmental authorities in many countries on all continents.
