Ground Illumination LED Replacement Nixes Incandescent, High-Draw Bulbs

PWI has obtained PMA approval for their LED Entry Door Light for the Beechcraft King Air. 

The light mounts between the engine and the fuselage under the pilot side wing, replacing the OEM, finicky incandescent bulbs with efficient, LED flood lighting in the approach area. While safe, the mod also provides a more modern atmosphere - important for working birds aiming to impress. The light is approved for King Air 200, B200/250, 300, and B300/350s, allowing operators to have illumination over the ground below the passenger stairs. The low-draw lighting system is a simple, affordable way to minimize injuries when disembarking.

Once installed, PWI states that the kit is good for 100,000 hours of service, providing 730 lumens to the OEM bulb's 650 - all at 13% of the power draw. If it reaches its maximum expected service life, the LED will have lasted more than 333 lifetimes of the original incandescent bulb.
