Illinois Ultralight Advisory Council Hosts Safety Seminar

Illinois DOT, FAA Also Participating In 30th Annual Event

The Illinois Ultralight Advisory Council (IUAC), the Illinois Department of Transportation, Division of Aeronautics, and the Federal Aviation Administration, Springfield FSDO, are presenting the 30th Annual IUAC Ultralight/Lightplane Safety Seminar on Saturday, February 27, 2010 in Springfield, IL. The event is free to attend, and pre-registration is not required.

The Illinois Ultralight Light Plane Safety Seminar is back at the Illinois Building on the Illinois State Fairgrounds. The safety seminar will cover a broad range of subjects. There will also be ultralight, engine manufacturer and accessory displays representing UL/sport/recreational type of aircraft.

A seminar will be presented on the Rotax 582 and 912 engines. There will also be sessions on how safety impacts aviation regulations and making your communications equipment work. The day will conclude with a session on the new sport pilot regulations.

Registration for the event will be from 0800-0900, with the seminar sessions beginning promptly at 0900. Arrive early for viewing the exhibits, since the featured seminar sessions will consume a major portion of the day. The program will conclude around 1600.
