Hooters Air: Bigger Than Ever

The little airline with the name we've all snickered about (Guilty, as charged...) is doubling it's, uh, assets. Well, what we meant to say is that the airline is doubling it's slate of scheduled destinations with the addition of three new routes.

Hooters Air started service last March with service from Atlanta (GA) to Myrtle Beach, (SC), and also serviced markets in Newark (NJ) and Baltimore (MD). They will soon offer additional service to Columbus, (OH); Fort Myers, (FL); and Nassau, (Bahamas). The new service starts December 18th.

"This expansion reinforces our growth plan to serve cities that can provide strong, sustainable demand for the Hooters Air concept and our great fares, and great service," said Chairman of Hooters, Bob Brooks. "This expansion to our route structure with these cities adds additional leisure travel opportunities that are in demand by our customers on an annual basis."

Of course, the reason for all the fuss is the fact that Hooters Air is the brainchild of the folks that run the Hooters restaurant chain  noted for their... chicken wings (Yeah, that's my story and I'm sticking to it), as well as the charms of their waitresses.

Every Hooters Air flight features two of the above-mentioned waitresses on each flight, who handle a number of service chores in addition to those performed by the required cadre of trained flight attendants.

The fledgling airline owns three 737s and a single 757, though another 757 is scheduled to join the fleet.
