Flights Cancelled When The Lights Went Out In Atlanta

About 18 Gates Lost Power For Several Hours At Hartsfield

A power outage Monday at Atlata's Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport (KATL) caused about two dozen flights to be cancelled, and several others to be delayed.

According to Delta spokesman Anthony Black, Delta Airlines cancelled some 24 flights when the power was lost to about 18 of the airport's 199 gates. Fox News reports that the power was off at the gates for about seven hours, finally being restored around noon.

The reason for the power outage was not immediatedly clear. Monday was particularly busy at KATL due to the end of the Thanksgiving Day holiday.
