Airborne 01.07.14: Boeing Vote, ANN's Sebring Forums, Red Bull Race Update

It appears that Washington State will remain the home of the 777X program.

Members of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) District 751 in Puget Sound, District W-24 in Portland, and District 70 in Wichita, have confirmed that they have voted, by 51 to 49 percent, to accept an eight-year contract extension that assures the 777X airliner will be built in Puget Sound by IAM members. Dr. David Juwel, a regular contributor to ANN and a long-time advocate for greater expertise in sales and marketing for sport aviation companies, will be presenting a forum at the Sebring Sport Aviation Expo on Thursday, January 16th, 2014 in Forum Area 3, at 1045 ET. The Air Line Pilots Association, International, known as ALPA, issued a statement regarding the implementation by the FAA and DOT of FAR 117, the new science-based flight-time and duty-time regulation that went into effect on January 4th.
