USPA Releases New Skydiver’s Info Manual

Most Comprehensive Update Ever With Industry Assistance

The U.S. Parachute Association has released the 2025 USAP Skydiver’s Information Manual with the most comprehensive update in its history, and was produced with a large dose of assistance by numerous industry experts.

According to feedback from members, the new edition improves the manual’s clarity and readability as well as modernizing the information for today’s skydivers.

The update also improves the Integrated Student Program.

Some highlights from the 2025 Skydiver’s Information Manual include:

  • Replaced the previous outline form with a narrative form that flows for easier reading
  • Reorganized the Integrated Student Program to provide clearer guidance, a reader-friendly format and improved decision-making exercises and quizzes
  • Improved the graphics and implemented a cleaner layout
  • Expanded the information about safety under canopy, including canopy-flight emergency procedures
  • Generally modernized the information and eliminated outdated content as determined by subject-matter experts in all areas of the sport

The USPA recommends all jumpers, but particularly instructors and drop-zone operators and leadership, to consider updating their libraries to include this 2025 edition of the SIM.

The new manual is available as a hardcopy through the USPA store or Amazon. The e-book is also available on Amazon, and a PDF version is available on the USPA website. The USPA said the 2025 SIM is being developed as an Android and iPhone app and will announce when those become available.
