Bell Snags First Sale Agreement For SUBARU Bell 412EPX

Purchase Signed At Aero Friedrichshafen With Kitz Air GmbH

Bell Textron announced at Aero Friedrichshafen its first signed purchase agreement for the SUBARU Bell 412EXP with Kitz Air GmbH, an Austrian air carrier. The helo will be used for transport flights, aerial work, and forestry applications.

Bell had received orders previously from the Croatia Ministry of Interior and the Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Interior.

Robin Wendling, managing director, Europe said, “We’re pleased to announce the agreement for the sale of the SUBARU Bell 412EPX to Kitz-Air at Aero Friedrichshafen and look forward to celebrating the aircraft’s entry into Commercial operations in Europe.

“The Bell 412 platform has provided reliable and versatile solutions for government, military and firefighting missions throughout the region. Bell is eager to continue this legacy by bringing the most advanced Bell 412 to this market.” 

Christoph Klein, Accountable Manager, Kitz-Air GmbH said, “Our missions are very demanding: whether lifting more than 2,000 kg [4,400 lbs] of external sling load on high altitude construction projects in the mountains or executing critical fire-fighting missions - the SUBARU Bell 412EPX has the right performance to fulfil all of our missions.”

More than 130 Bell 412s operate in Europe in commercial and government applications. The SUBARU Bell 412EPX (Enhanced Performance with features) is the most recent variant, developed in conjunction with automaker Subaru. It is spacious enough for up to thirteen passengers and has a max gross weight of up to 13,000 lbs (5,897 kg). Its main rotor gear box has dry-run capability and can carry up to 5,000 lbs (2,268 kg) sling load on a cargo hook.
