Women in Aviation International Finishes 35th Conference

Growth Abounds for International Sisterhood

Women in Aviation International capped off its 2024 Conference with a flurry of activity, completing its year get-together for the 35th year running - and things were busier than ever.

The Conference saw some record attendance and exhibition numbers, with more than 5,200 attendees representing 35 countries. The WAI Chapter network has grown, too, reaching 180 chapters in 26 nations. There's more international growth to do, though, since the USA accounts for 140 chapters domestically, with only 40 outside the states. The scale is also apparent from the level of industry support at WAI2024, with more than 200 distinct companies, groups, and organizations making an appearance. That support trickles down to the rank & file working their way into an aviation career, since 131 scholarships were able to be given out to WAI members. Those cover all kinds of aviation-related aspects, in everything from flight training & type ratings to academic improvements and lifestyle enhancements.

"As the largest organization in the world dedicated to increasing the number of women in all aspects of aviation and aerospace, WAI was able to celebrate the strength of our expanding Women in Aviation International community this week during our annual conference," said WAI CEO Lynda Coffman. "At every moment during WAI2024, thousands of attendees were able to learn, network, and mentor one another in a venue full of like-minded women who come together to share their passion for aviation and aerospace. We are helping to change the face of aviation, and WAI is proud to support our members throughout their aviation journey with a lifetime of programs."
