Bringing hands-on aviation activities to young people is the goal as the EAA and AMA have unveiled the new “Young Eagles Build and Fly” program to engage youth in hands-on building and flying of radio-control aircraft.

The initiative provides EAA chapters the opportunity to purchase a specially designed SIG LT-40 eKadet kit, all building materials, electronics, and accessories that are needed to complete and fly the radio-controlled model. EAA chapters will partner with their local AMA Club to create a “build project” and a learn-to-fly program for interested youth. Join AMA in celebrating Drone Safety Awareness Week during the week of November 4-10, 2019. Drone Safety Week will engage UAS users and other stakeholders to help educate the public about drone operations and safety. To participate and promote Drone Safety Awareness Week, AMA encourages their clubs to host events to show your commitment to safety and share what the hobby means to you. Share your content on social media and use #DroneWeek. The developers of the Air Pix selfie drone are shipping the tiny aircraft after raising more than $1.2 million on Indiegogo. The crowdfunding site shows the drone's status as "Shipping" after the company
discovered what it described as a "small setback". "While quality control testing the first AIR PIX off the mass production line we found a flaw in how the newly, more efficient propeller design attaches to the rotor. That’s the bad news. "The good news is that WE ARE ON IT!" All this -- and MORE in today's episode of the AMA Drone Report!!!
