Bell Helicopter Announces New General Manager, Global Customer Training

Will Promote, Expand Global Capabilities Of Helicopter Training Academy

Bell Helicopter has named Mr. Ray Lamas to lead their global pilot and technical training expansion efforts in a newly-developed role of general manager, Global Customer Training. Lamas will be responsible for the development and implementation of the Bell Helicopter Training Academy’s worldwide flight and technical training programs, including full flight simulators and flight training devices.

“Our customers have made it clear we must expand the reach and capabilities of our training to better serve their regional needs,” said Eric Cardinali, executive vice president of Bell Helicopter’s Customer Support and Services organization. “As the GM, Global Customer Training, Ray will be responsible to lead the implementation of regional training solutions while ensuring we maintain our industry-leading reputation for pilot and technical training.”
 
Lamas came to Bell Helicopter in April 2013 to serve as a director, strategy, a role which served as a springboard to his new assignment. A graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, Lamas served for 11 years in naval aviation, rising to the rank of lieutenant commander and achieving qualifications as an instructor and mission commander in several aircraft. Upon leaving the service, Lamas moved to L3 Communications as a senior project manager and worked at Bain and Company as a strategy consultant and case team leader, assisting multiple Fortune 500 companies across a variety of industries address key strategic issues. Lamas holds an MBA from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business and holds a fixed wing commercial pilot’s license.
