Mentor Meetings Offered Free At ASCEND Drone Business Conference

Continues Focus On Applicable Knowledge With New Offering Of One-On-One Mentor Meetings

The ASCEND Drone Business Conference & Expo is offering an opportunity for one-on-one meetings with Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) experts who will help address business challenges or offer advice about advancing a career using drone technology.

ASCEND will deliver hands-on knowledge to immediately help attendees with their business objectives. Content tracks provide practical information about using drones to improve processes and increase profits in precision agriculture, construction and inspections, insurance, journalism, and photo and video fields. Mentor meetings are a valuable addition to sessions that will help attendees:

  • develop commercial application workflows
  • understand policies and regulations
  • minimize financial and legal risk
  • learn important drone maintenance skills

“We were amazed by the immediate, positive response we received when we invited industry experts to be mentors,” said Sara Dumford, ASCEND Conference Director. “This is a need people are eager to fill in an industry still in its fledgling stages. It reflects the collaborative spirit among those who want to use the technology to its full potential. The mentors are sincerely excited to share what they’ve learned and to help emerging UAS leaders develop.”

The ASCEND Conference & Expo will be held in Portland, OR, July 19-21, 2017. Mentor meetings are free of charge and open to paid ASCEND attendees on a first-come, first-served basis. Register at Ascend-Event.com (early-bird pricing ends May 25). Register for mentor meetings online or at the conference (depending on availability).

ASCEND is also adding an intensive study course for the FAA Part 107 UAS aeronautical knowledge test, which is required to become a certified remote pilot and commercial drone operator. Led by AeroVista Innovations, the training will include lectures, group discussions, study guides, and a practice test. It will be held in Portland on July 18 and can be added to full conference registration.
