FAA's New Homebuilt Registration Form

The FAA, hoping to finally comply with its mandate to reduce paperwork, has simplified its homebuilt registration form. The FAA's Jim Jarvis, speaking to us with a request for anonymity from his Oklahoma City office, said, "We had a good look at what builders were sending us, and determined that we could use the old '80-20' rule. Now, the first page reflects our commitment to saving 80% of the builders 20% of their time."

We are told that additional pages are under review. The FAA has pledged to review the entire registration paperwork in similar manner, by the end of 2034.
