Helicopter Down In Heart Of Mexico City

Details Still Coming In

We're still getting information on the crash of a helicopter in the heart of Mexico's capital.

It happened at lunchtime on Wednesday, injuring four people and sending the lunch crowd running for cover.

"The helicopter began to spin and came down spinning out of control. I started running and didn't see when it fell," said Ricardo Zuniga. He's a car park attendant at a restaurant near the crash site. His shirt was stained with blood after he helped the injured.

The helicopter had just taken off from the rooftop of a building in a very affluent Mexico City neighborhood. Witnesses say it ran into trouble almost immediately. The pilot apparently did a pretty good job of avoiding casualties. Instead of spinning into a crowded outdoor restaurant, he hit five parked cars before rolling on his side.

There's no information as to the type of aircraft involved. There were four souls on board, including the pilot and three passengers. All were injured.
