Rectrix Aviation Looks To Start Commercial Airline Service

Submits Plans For Scheduled Air Service Between Hyannis And Nantucket

Rectrix Aviation, a provider of premium jet service and charters, aircraft management, aircraft maintenance, and fixed-based operations services, has submitted an application to the Department of Transportation to conduct scheduled air service as a commuter carrier. The application has proposed scheduled service between Hyannis, MA (KHYA) and Nantucket, MA (KACK). Once DOT approval has been received, Rectrix will be able to offer passengers scheduled by-the-seat competitive options for their travel plans, leveraging their extensive experience as an on-demand provider.

Rectrix has identified an important need for frequent, scheduled passenger air transportation to replace the commercial schedule left vacant when Island Air ceased operations in December 2015. The company intends on operating a fleet of King Air 350i aircraft upon DOT and FAA approval for the proposed commercial service. Other routes are also in the planning stages from Worcester, MA (KORH) and the New York area.

Rectrix Aviation is an established aviation company headquartered in Massachusetts, already holding an Air Carrier Certificate (#6RXA771M) and operations specifications from the Federal Aviation Administration. Rectrix is the largest Massachusetts private charter company owning its aircraft fleet and fixed based operations (FBOs). The company currently provides on-demand service with a fleet of seven jet aircraft.
