Type-Certified: Aeros 40D Sky Dragon

Non-Rigid Airship Used For Advertising, Sensor Platform

ANN received word Friday that Aeros Corp., manufacturer of a family of lighter-than-air airborne platforms, was recently issued an FAA Type-Certificate for its latest airship model, the Aeros 40D Sky Dragon.

"This seal of approval is a major highlight for the Aeros 40D program. It signifies the tireless efforts that the Aeros creative team has put into the development of this new and advanced LTA vehicle," said Igor Pasternak, Aeros President and CEO.

The 40D Sky Dragon was designed around the market demand for an airship capable of multi-mission applications that ranges from advertising and broadcast camera work to sensor suites platform, while maintaining a low cost of operation. The Aeros 40D is 153-feet long, with 100,000 cubic feet of volume.

The Sky Dragon sports technologies such as a fly-by-wire flight control system, advanced avionics, and a new stronger, and lighter, envelope fabric -- with much-improved helium impermeability. An IFR instrumentation package rounds is also offered.

Worldwide Aeros is currently celebrating its 20th year of operations. The company credits an inventive spirit, the constant pursue of excellence, and an approach for continuous innovation in its transformation into a premier airship manufacturer, as well as a leading research and development house for the aerospace industry. Aeros' products serve diligently both commercially, and in government applications.

Aeros manufactures several lighter-than-air, FAA-certified aircraft. The company's operations involve the research, development, production, operation and marketing of a complete family of Aeros-branded air vehicles used in government and commercial applications. These include the non-rigid FAA Type-Certified Aeros 40D Sky Dragon Airships, Advanced Tethered Aerostatic Systems, and its new Aeroscraft Rigid Air Vehicle.
