Allegiant Cancels Flight, Backup Plane Also Not Airworthy

Maintenance Problems Ground Both Airplanes

Allegiant Airlines had a bad day Sunday getting a flight from Fargo, ND to Las Vegas.

The flight finally departed on Tuesday.

The Tampa Bay Times reports that the airline initially grounded the plane that was supposed to fly the route due to a maintenance issue. Then the plane brought into replace the original equipment was also deemed to not be airworthy. Allegiant did not specify what those problems were.

The Las Vegas-based airline told the North Dakota media that the passengers will be given a full refund for the flights if they chose not to travel to Las Vegas. They will also be given a voucher for future travel on the airline, and reimbursed for hotel expenses incurred due to the cancellations.
