While more investment is needed, this bill provides a much-needed downpayment for modernizing the U.S. air traffic control system. It also provides tax incentives that allow for general aviation manufacturers to further champion innovation and safety, support jobs and spur economic growth. These tax incentives provide a catalyst for U.S. aerospace manufacturers to continue to lead on a global scale and contribute to our industry’s positive trade balance.”
Source: James Viola, President and CEO of GAMA, who issued a statement regarding the aviation-related provisions in the final passage of the budget reconciliation bill that retained multiple provisions intended to promote the growth and sustainability of the nation’s aviation industry as well as revamp and upgrade the technologies and infrastructure of the air traffic control (ATC) system.
