Embraer’s 1,500th EMB203 Ipanema Delivered To Female Rancher Carla de Freitas
Embraer, an aircraft manufacturer headquartered in Brazil delivered its 1,500th Ipanema aircraft to a female rancher, Carla de Freitas, founder of the Women’s Agribusiness Nucleus (NFA).
The Embraer EMB 203 Ipanema is an agricultural “Ag” aircraft used for aerial application and crop-dusting. For this milestone delivery, the EMB 203 was emblazoned with a commemorative paint scheme that alluded to its agricultural history. Ms. De Freitas added that “being a woman pilot receiving an aircraft from a female pilot demonstrated the company’s value and care with the gender inclusion there.”
Embraer has had another record year of sales for the aircraft, securing 39 new orders as of May 2022, and represents an increase of over 20% from the prior year. During the Agrishow Ribeirão Preto that was held at the end of last month, Embraer sold 11 of this new Ag model series. Naturally, Embraer is encouraged by the recent sales, and believes that it will solidify their leadership position in Brazil’s agricultural business.
The EMB203 can be powered by ethanol, and was the first Embraer aircraft series certified to fly with renewable energy. The EMB 203 as delivered sported a mostly blue-and-white paint scheme with the vertical stabilizer adorned with lush fields and the Brazilian flag waving overhead.
Embraer, perhaps best known for its E-series commercial jets has been manufactured for defense & security, as well as Agricultural concerns. Founded in 1969, it has delivered more than 8,000 aircraft. It maintains a presence across the Americas, Africa, Asia and Europe.
