Honeywell LCD Displays Certified For Legacy Flight Decks

Single Display Replacements For Dornier 328, Embraer Legacy 600 Airplanes

Honeywell liquid crystal displays (LCDs) are now certified as single display replacements for older generation cathode ray tube displays. The current certifications allow Dornier 328 and Embraer Legacy 600 business jet operators to upgrade their traditional displays with Honeywell’s newest technology, enabling access to the latest safety and efficiency cockpit technologies through simple software upgrades.

With Honeywell’s DU875 LCD displays, business jet operators can replace their older display technology one at a time, rather than overhauling their entire cockpit. These incremental upgrades make it easier and more cost-effective to keep aircraft up-to-date and efficient. In addition, each LCD display is approximately 8lbs lighter than older units – providing weight reduction and fuel savings for aircraft which require multiple displays.

The DU875 LCD also enables the option for operators to upgrade to Honeywell’s Primus Elite Advanced Features, some of the most advanced cockpit technology available today. Primus Elite Advanced Features help increase a pilot’s situational awareness with a “clear day” 3-D look outside the cockpit, day or night and in inclement weather with Honeywell’s SmartView Synthetic Vision; obstacle and runway data and enhanced map features with Honeywell’s Traffic Collision Avoidance System; better weather information with XM Meteorological Aviation Reports; and more.

The DU875 LCD upgrades are available now for Dornier 328 and Embraer Legacy 600 business jet operators through special trade-in offers and the Honeywell Avionics Protection Plan. Additional Supplemental Type Certification for other aircraft types is in the works and is expected to be completed in 2017.
