HOP! Introduces First ATR 72-600 To Air France Group

The Carrier Upgrades Its Fleet To Boost Route Network And Provide Comfort For Passengers

Air France's regional subsidiary HOP! is bolstering its fleet with the introduction of the first of five new-generation ATR 72-600s as part of an agreement with the Danish lessor Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC). The new aircraft will join HOP!'s 24-strong ATR fleet and will make its first commercial flight at the end of the week. The remaining aircraft are expected to be delivered before the end of this year.

The five modern ATR 72-600s will gradually replace the former ATR 72-500s as part of HOP!'s long-term strategy aiming at fleet modernization and network improvements. The new turboprops will benefit from the latest technological developments that distinguish the -600s: a new avionics suite with latest generation glass cockpit, redesigned and stylish cabin interiors, enhanced engine performance and payload. The ATR 72-600s are not only known for their reliability and technology but are also the top-selling turboprop aircraft on the market.

The new ATR 72-600 seats 72 passengers and will fly in a brand new livery of HOP! Air France.

"We are pleased to expand our partnership with ATR and excited about the opportunities these aircraft will bring," said Lionel Guerin, Vice President Senior Executive of HOP! Air France. “These new-generation turboprops are perfectly adapted to many of our existing and potential routes. By renewing our fleet, we hope to provide travelers with more frequent rapid and direct flights, better schedules and competitive fares, while contributing to the economic growth of the regions served. That is exactly what the ATR -600 aircraft allows the airline to achieve."

'We are delighted to provide HOP! Air France with the latest generation of ATRs. We believe that the ATR 72-600 is the perfect complement to the Air France current fleet. NAC has developed a strong working relationship with HOP! over the last ten years and we look forward to building and strengthening our partnership with them in the coming years' said Martin Møller, Chairman of Nordic Aviation Capital.

Patrick de Castelbajac, Chief Executive Officer of ATR, declared that “ATR is delighted to be associated to the modernization of HOP! Air France. ATR has enjoyed a long-term strategic cooperation with HOP! and we are honored by this new proof of confidence in the ATR aircraft family. We believe these fleet improvements will provide HOP! with increased ability to match demand and capacity throughout airline's network.”
